While the Erie County Fair is the main point of contact with the public in regards to agriculture education, the Erie County Agricultural Society felt that educating students outside of the 12 days of the Fair was just as important; thus Farm 2 Table began. Farm 2 Table is a field trip for 3rd and 4th grade students to come to the Fairgrounds in Hamburg in either June or October. The program, designed to educate students about agriculture and how food comes from the farm and ends up on their table, is produced solely by the Erie County Agricultural Society (promoters of the Erie County Fair) to help fulfill the mission statement of the Agricultural Society which is to preserve and enhance, by educational endeavors, the agricultural and historical legacy of New York State. |
